Default Houma La Area General Contractor

Moving to the Houma-Thibodaux area for work. Possibly considering building instead of buying. Anyone on here a contractor in the area? Or anyone have a good recommendation on someone in the area?

My son just built a house and used Ryan Dicharry. They did a great job. They have homes that you can visit as well.

Where are you moving from? If we ever moved from South Lafourche it’ll be around Hwy. 20 In Thibodaux. We loved that area.

Moving from South FL. Been looking in the Thibodaux and Raceland area. Trying to stay out of the "A" flood zone. Thinking about an acre to two and about an 18-1900 SqFt house. Just me and the wife. Room to park the boat and a three cars. Prices are all over the road. Either new and in a subdivision or 1970's brady bunch and want a pile of money for it. Not looking to gut and rehab a place if I can get around it. Will check out the builders you guys mentioned. Thanks.

I would consider North Raceland as it’s better than central/south Raceland or Thibodaux towards Labadieville or Chackbay.

Expect $400k plus for what you looking for. Thibodeaux is nice. I live in Lockport. Heritage Heights. New Neighborhood with half acre lots. $125ish a sq ft plus price of lot. I’m in flood zone C. I wouldn’t bet my life on it, but Lafourche has done a good job with building, raising and maintaining levees.

check out

Ardoyne Plantation Estates in Houma. My cousin lives there. 2 acre lots I believe although it’s pretty expensive.

if you’d like to talk about can give you my number.

Gaudet Builders in RACELAND is good. He’ll build on your lot. He also has a subdivision he’s developing. He built my brothers house.

Superior Home Builders did mine.

don’t expect fast builders. 9 months after start is common.

one thing to know is subdivisions here don’t have HOAs and every house had at least one boat!

Ha, gmack... I pass by your house several times a week on way to get lunch. Very cool neighborhood for sure with nice new construction.

I think he may be more commercial than residential. I don't remember. But he would definitely know who to call if that wasn't somthing he did.
