Where are you located? You will get some recommendations of Tim Wade nets, he makes a good net that a lot of people are happy with. Brunson net supply in foley al, has some nice nets, Im not sure where they get them from. I also have some calusa/cracker nets and they are pretty good nets as well. A true one inch mesh will stretch to 2 inches and is best for mullet, a true 1/2 inch mesh stretches to 1 inch and is good for finger mullet etc.

If you've never thrown a cast net or are teaching a kid how to throw for the first time, check out Pro Kast cast nets. They have a "frisbee" like device inside them that seems to help keep things untangled and usually makes a nice "bell" every time you throw it. I bought one on a whim last year and taught my oldest nephews how to throw it in 5 minutes and now they keep plenty of bait in the bait trap =-)

What bait fish are you targeting?

Get a regular 6' net and practice with it. Plenty of online videos. Skip the frisbee thingy.

Betts blue 6’ net works for me, I soaked it overnight in water/ fabric softener which seemed to help it open up a little easier

The smaller the net, harder to throw, just saying. Start with a minimum of 8', you will not regret it. 1" mesh is for silver mullet, I would never use 1" for bait, you will gill every bait and spend hours pulling bait out of it.
