Default Alabama Snapper Season 2019

So far they have added additional weekend to Red Snapper Season past the summer, what are they odds they add more weekends.

I'm not sure where they are with the Quota, but from what I was told there weren't a ton of boats fishing this weekend. I wish i could have made it.

I'm hoping for a weekend in November.

I could not fish Friday and Saturday, but Sunday was no bargain, with thunderstorms between me and the fish. I would love for them to add another weekend!

I'm not sure where your information came from but there were boats everywhere on Friday and Saturday out of Dauphin Island. The most bay boats I have seen in a while out there.

I took Friday off from work so my wife and I could fish. I had hoped to fish all three days but the forecast had us writing Sunday off from the start.

We started at daylight Friday morning out of Bayou la Batre. Calm seas with 2ft swells. We only ran about 15 miles south of Dauphin Island and saw very few boats. Maybe 4 or 5 all day (offshore, not counting the west end gang).

Saturday was a slower start for us. On the water about 10am. Same swells but a little bit of chop on top. I don't remember seeing any boats offshore Saturday. It was peaceful and eerie simultaneously.

Big jellyfish everywhere. We had to weed through a lot of undersized fish to get our limit. Also managed to pick up two chicken dolphin off a boat fender drifting around. Got cut off a couple of times on the flat line...pretty sure the kings were responsible.

Would be interesting to see the quota figures but I doubt we get another weekend.

I watched the buoy data on and off over Sunday. 20knt winds and 4-5ft seas...I doubt anyone made it out through that.

I fished out of Dauphin Island on Saturday and saw a number of boats when we were coming in around noon. Not like a summer weekend but definitely not deserted. BGH also had a good number of boats. Once again not like the normal summer s*it show, but more than a normal fall college football Saturday.
