Default Chesapeake to Choctawhatchee

Spent my entire life crabbing and fishing the upper Chesapeake bay on a 19ft key west. Moved down here in 2009, traveled for work for 10 years and finally bought a boat, 2003 Trophy 2352 24ft. Looking to get back into fishing again, but I have to admit that I have very little fishing knowledge of this area. Not sure about Gulf conditions that are right for my boat either. I need a serious refresh of tackle and rods. I don't own anything more than an ultralight right now. Anyone in the FWB/Niceville area care to show a Gulf newb the ropes? I'm not quite confident enough to run out through the pass on my own yet. Will pay for time/gas/etc. Have also considered taking a charter out, but I dunno if that's the right way to do it either.

grew up fishing the Chesapeake, keep my boat at Legendary Marine and live up in Crestview now. Not sure the next time I’m going out, have a wedding in Annapolis next week.

Thanks!

Is it worth keeping it at legendary? I started looking into it, but the boat came with a trailer and I had plenty of space at my property to store it so I just decided to keep it at my house. I'm in no rush, shoot me a message if you ever want to head out.

it is for me, it was an hour tow both ways plus tolls. Makes short trips out more reasonable. Will on you when I’m heading out again.
