Default Fishing past the shelf in Freeport Texas?

Iím interested on trolling out at the shelf in Freeport, by the shelf I mean where it drops into 1000 feet of water. The furthest Iíve gone has been intersection rig and now Iím interested in going further. What possible things could I catch at the shelf, where are good spots to go? Should I troll for
marlin or wahoo? Is it even worth it to go that far. If you all could answer this questions and help fill me with knowledge that would be great

We have had a LOT of success with dorado, marlin, wahoo and blackfin trolling off the shelf. If you can rig for it I would also suggest trying for swords, barrelfish… things like that. But it's treated us good! (Out of Port Aransas)

If youíre already at the intersection rigs, the shelf isnít much further out. Troll for anything you can or have the tackle for; dorado, wahoo, tuna or bills. Yes itís worth it if you catch. Sometimes that doesnít always happen but you canít catch them at home.
