Thanks to those that answered my last post. Not to confuse things I'll start another for this question.
Water quality in Little Lagoon - swimming not fishing? One of the places the Admiral is looking at has a lagoon beach. From what I can find from Alabama state stuff seems good, passes 95% of the time.

You're good swimming in the lagoon, just be wary of the gators if you're staying close to either end of it. Actually get some really clear water if you're close to the pass, but be careful swimming around the pass itself as it's got a strong undertow if the tide it running out.

I live in Ocean Springs on the water and have a place in Gulf Shores. Water probably fine but with the flesh eating bacteria I won't take a chance. I don't let my grandkids get in the lagoon. Our place is on big lagoon. They can play in the sand on the beach all day but swim in the pool. The biggest problem I hear is getting in stagnant water with not a lot of flow. So the Gulf side is probably fine but why take a chance with kids. This is not a problem just in Alabama its all over the Gulf Coast. and I am sure 100's of thousands get in the water with no problem but when it gets you its bad
