Yep, there goes my fishing vaca plans. Heading back to Cocodrie tomorrow to hopefully get a few trout trips in before it kicks up. Guess I'll be towing the cat back home Friday or so.

Had plans for Dauphin Island this weekend to take nephew and BIL out for nephews first time. No reason to sit on the island and watch it blow and rain. Guess that's gonna mean no more snapper for me this year, they have others plans the last weekend of the season.

My favorite time to fish is right after a storm. We've caught all kinds of "out of place" fish in the days immediately after a storm. It should be interesting as this one looks like it will cross just south of the entire northern gulf then turn inland out west so the whole coast may possibly get churnned up and who knows what interesting fishing adventures that'll create. Gotta watch out for floating debris big time though!

With the way a south wind affects the water level in Cocodrie now, I would.

I'm pretty sure all tournaments from Pensacola to Texas will end up cancelled this weekend. I know the Blue Marlin Grand Championship has already been cancelled.

Post Katrina I was around Dulac and spotted an entire flock to Canvasback on the water. Must have been 75+. I didn't believe they were really Canvasback Ducks but i asked a couple of other people and everyone agreed they were Canvasbacks. Never seen that many together and have never seen another Canvasback in that area.

I am thinking I have to go to Hackberry later this week and tie stuff down and move boats to higher ground. Like I didn't have anything else going on.
