Default Venice to Grand Isle by boat?

Going to a friends camp in Venice for the weekend and thinking about making the run from there to Grande Isle by boat to get in on the trout action. Heís very familiar with Venice but hasnít ever made the run to GI from his camp. I guess Iím looking for any tips/advice on getting there, or is it a bad idea all around. We will be fishing a 22í Gravios.

Thanks in advance!

As ray said. Red pass to Barataria pass. I was there two weekends ago and smacked the trout on the rocks.

Why not just go out of baptiste collette and head to the islands or get out of collette then head north to fish canary rigs? Easier than running to gi.

Thanks fellas. We fished Breton island and another one a little North East. Caught some keepers but had to pick through lots of 10Ē fish. They turned off about 8:15 and we never saw another. Probably head west tomorrow and see if we can find some better fish. Anyone else fishing that way tomorrow?

Those canary (yellow) rigs have some really nice trout under them and......
find the barges that are strapped between pilings. Under those barges are solid shell/rock foundations. If you find the set of pilings without the barges you can have a field day. Plenty trout..... The rigs right in front of the islands carry allot of fish also. If you haven’t tried east bay yet that’s a nice place to hook up on allot of different species in one trip. You can fish trout on one end and fish cobia on the other. Then head out to the deep water if that floats your boat.....

About where are the canary rigs? How far from Baptists? Are the pilings/barges nearby? Thanks
