Default Leaving out of Venice Friday

We are leaving out of Venice to fish Friday. Any info on where the rip is, if there is one. I missed it a few weeks ago when it was close in. We are taking the kids snapper fishing and they sure would enjoy getting on some dolphin.
Thanks
Damian.

Last Monday it was about 30 miles from south pass. This past weekend it took me 65 miles to hit the rip. Once I did it was loaded with mahi and wahoo. Went 8 for 10 on wahoo.

What are you seeing? I am still seeing 1-2's until late afternoon using wind finder, buoy weather and the marine forecast from LA Sportsman.

Friday was a pretty $hitty fishing trip. It was a little windy but all we found was lots and lots of small snapper. We fished the 68 to 73 bocks in west delta. Iím not sure what was going on. Bounced around much more than normal and didnít find any decent fish. The water was fairly dirty. Itís been quite a while not limiting out on snapper. But my 9 year old had a blast and that was the main goal. He has been wanting to catch a shark and he was able catch a few smaller ones. He didnt care how big they were as long as they put up a good fight.

We fished the West Delta on Friday. Couldnít buy a good snapper. We tried multiple rigs, both sunken and regular. No real current to speak of.

We fished way west Friday. Fish were hungry as I ever seen them there. 9 grouper, 12 red snaps, 2 barrel fish, 5 golden tiles, 1 chicken dolphin, 1 long tail seabass, 6 almaco jacks.

Damn its amazing how a few miles can make such a big deference. Fished south timbier Friday. Very strong current. Nice red snapper every drop. Caught our 10 in 20 minutes and got our 50 mangroves on the way in.

Two weeks ago I fished out of grand isle towards the west. And just as you mentioned the fish were plentiful.

Sounds cwhite and I were fishing the same rigs. Lol.
