We also went to the liberty ships on Saturday. We got out a little bit late and I tell you by the time we got to the area it was a parking lot. I have fish that area extensively last season and was surprised how much more difficult pulling up a limit of decent sized fish was on Saturday. Part of it Iím sure was the amount of traffic keeping me off the better locations . Or maybe the fish gods were just teaching me a lesson since I went out with the expectation of catching monsters one after the other. Next time out Iíll hit a spot farther out. Was anyone else surprised by the bite as compared with last season opener? But, we did get our limit and they were decent fish and Iím happy to have a nice long snapper season to try lots of new spots!

We went to the Liberty Ships Saturday too. Got there mid-morning (evidently way too late) and it was definitely a parking lot. There were fourteen boats with three more leaving and three more coming. I had never been there before and couldn't move around to graph the ships and fish. Had one boat pull up so close I almost asked if any of his people wanted to fish on my boat. Caught a couple of small ones and had a bunch of bait stealers pecking. It was a little rough for me so we decided to stay in closer but after hitting several spots looking for fish we ran around so much that we would have been better off running to a more dependable spot farther out. Learning experience - wait for more favorable seas (2' or less for me and my boat) and run farther out to less known and more dependable spots.

agreed farther would have been better. Honestly it was so busy out there people were definitely close to one another. Throw in the guys with trolling motors that can spot lock and the drift lines get a bit tricky. I got close to a few folks Saturday but out there it almost canít be helped to some degree. Thereís only so much structure and everyone spent money to get out there and wants to fish it. I finally got a bit more stress once about getting on the structure after haveing people cut inside my drift line. So, if it was me performing the near boarding on your boat I apologize 😉

No problem. I was just mad it wasn't the boat that had the hot bikini girl on it. I am one of the people with the spot-lock trolling motor, so I am probably messing up the normal pattern. I just need to go where I am the first one on the spot. Hoping for flat seas soon.

Iím always looking for guys to go or buddy boat with so shoot me a dm and we can get in touch.
