Default Fourchon Cinco de Mayo

We (my two boys, my dad and myself) actually fished Sunday 4/28 and 5/5 with the exact same results ………. clean ice. Today we fished around Bell Pass inside and out for about 2 hours with the only thing caught being 1 hard head! We had dead shrimp and live minnows along with the usual artificial. Pretty disheartening. Fished 7 rigs in Bay Marchand and South Timbalier catching absolutely nothing. No bait lost nothing showing on the finder …….ghost town. Defeated went out to deeper water and caught and released red snapper.

My older son Ayden has gotten to the stage that he does everything by himself. That's nice! He caught some nice snapper on his own and a couple of mangroves.

Wyatt is an animal. I put the line out and let him use the rod holder catch his fish. Believe it or not he caught a giant jetty tuner by himself from the holder with me only moving the rod from holder to holder when needed.

Wanted some fish to eat, but it was fun getting out anyway.

Those mangroves are good eating IMHO. Looks like the kids had a blast either way. The sheepshead were biting at the jetties Easter weekend. Apparently they have turned off.

Keep those boys fishing. Keeps them out of trouble when they are older. Great job dad!

Brown shrimp opens May 20 in our zone. We will make a couple trips, but don’t trawl as much as we used to.

Nothing better right there! I wouldn't want to arm wrestle either one of those boys!
