I have had issues with motion sickness mostly from my parents inability to read directions for when I was a child Dramamine never worked. As an adult I read the directions and followed them. I have not been sea sick in over 35 years as the result. As long as I take Dramamine at night right before bed and then another when my foot hits the dock all has been well.

They did a “Myth Busters” episode on best remedies....

I believe the solution was 1) Dramamine works but makes people feel gross 2) Ginger pills work with almost no side effect 3) there is a mental aspect
of it where a control (sugar tablet) helped cure sea sickness

I personally always try to stay out of cabin when out fishing so I think fresh air helps a lot and a full stomach

Dramamine or zofran are my hangover and seasickness drugs of choice. You can get the non drowsy kind. Motion sickness definitely has a mental aspect to it. if you are worried about it it will get you. If you don’t think about it, stay busy doing something like driving the boat or whatever it can make a huge difference

Get your doctor to prescribe the smallest dose of valium. It will work and none of the side effects of dramamine.

Ha! funny you should say that. When she was describing the way it felt that was the first thought I had. Unfortunately neither of us can partake.

To bad, edibles work good also. Next time if weather is good enough get her to jump in the water. Getting in the water is an instant cure for most people, for others it may come back later in the day.

Was on a bachelor party and the deck hand had some weed. Two of my buddies were green and puking. One smoked and had a great time without anymore puking. The other didn’t and puked all day.....

Rx of MJ has been used for many years to counter the effects of nausea from Chemotherapy.

I think they have put CBD oil into vapes. That would be a way to get quick relief.

I do as mentioned Bonine the night before and Then the morning. This was recommended to me by my dive instructor decades ago.

I have also started using this patch.

I
keep these on the boat. Once behind each ear.
My 20 year old son went from mild sea sickness to no sea sickness just using the patch.

I'll also add Ginger pills but not sure how much they help. The ginger chews seems to make things worse for me.

My wife gets vertigo every now and then. She uses Motion Eaze to get relief. I keep it on the boat for friends & family that will potentially get sick. Dab it on your finger tip and rub on soft spots behind the ears. No after affects what so ever. You can apply it right before getting on the boat and during the trip. My step brother would always get sea sick and would never want to come with us offshore because of that fear. Gave him Motion Eaze and let him drive the boat. That was his only time ever not getting sick and had a great time.

Default seasick

I have trouble getting sick often and i have my own boat. A friend loaned me a Relief Band,[PS its not water proof, just water resistant ] I promise you this thing WORKS!!!! I found if i turn it on when i start to feel a little sick, it makes the sickness go away in about 30 minutes, or you can leave on the whole time. Just follow directions you will be fine and ready to eat !!!! I had a stomach bug over the weekend, i used it and as long i had it running i was FINE.

My wife is fine as long as shes driving the boat. Can anchor and do some reef fishing but after a couple hours we need to get moving unless the seas are flat. She tried the patch, it made it worse. We have a couple of relief bands, she has not used yet but a fishing buddy of mine did and said they helped

Fished a tournament last year. Day 1, 4-5 people puking. Day 2, Zofran was passed out when leaving the dock. Weather was way worse on day 2. Everyone felt great all day.

My wife has used Bonine for the last 25 years and she hasn't been sick on the boat since. She takes one in the morning before we leave the house and another when we are about to launch the boat. They dissolve under the tongue. It's also quite safe to take 2 at the same time. Bonine is also non-drowsy, so that's a huge benefit. It's seasick wife tested, so I stand by it 100%.

Hello, my top tip, ginger biscuits, ginger is apparently a natural motion sickness (or sickness in general) remedy, the sugar seems to help too, dehydration is a problem too, sips of water or one of those sports drinks like gatorade, so if you puke you can replenish what you lost. Or one of these sea sickness bands.
