Default Chandeleurs

Heading out to the Chandeleurs the last weekend of April with two other boats and 4 bay boats. Any reports on the current conditions? Thanks in advance.

We'll be anchored just north of Redfish Point. Bertram 390, Miss Erin IV we'll be monitoring 16 and 68. Stop by for a beer.

Thinking about doing a fishing/possibly camping trip out to the Chandeleurs around Freemason. Would it be easier to run from Slidell thru the marsh or drive over to Pass Christian? Never been out there but getting a larger boat soon and wanna make some longer trips. Thanks

I'll probably be heading towards freemason from shell beach that weekend for the day. I'll be in my gray 2400 blazer bay.

I would say leave out of Bayou Caddy and cut through the marsh.

Keep in mind it's still illegal to camp on the entire Chandeleur chain, including Freemason. People still do it, but just a heads up!

weather looks great hope you all catch!

I was planning on heading out there this weekend but Windfinder is showing 13-15 mph wind on Saturday. Am I seeing that correctly? Or due to the position of the islands the wind should have little effect on fishing. Thoughts?

Once you get there the wind shouldn't be a big deal. Getting there in 15mph winds while doable is slow go in a bay boat.

you can easily get there from Pass Christian or Biloxi. Its 26 miles to the tip from Biloxi. Once you are there, just fish on the leeward wind side.

Water has been dirty, clear, dirty, clear, etc.

Is there anyone leaving from the small craft harbor in Biloxi? I plan to be leaving between 0600 and 0700.

Looks like our plans have changed. We awill be leaving Saturday afternoon from hopedale and sleeping on the boats to fish Sunday. We will be monitoring 68 also. We will be in a white 243 Everglades and a 27’ custom Hanko.

Damian.

We got out there Saturday afternoon around 5:30. Fished a little that afternoon. Mostly smaller trout. We fished mainly around Freemason and west Did pretty well but had to move around a bit. There were a lot of boats towards the area near the jack up. The water was much cleaner east of Freemason than west.

Easily caught a 4 person limit of 16 to 17 inch fish. Fished around the Channel Islands and Redfish Point. Beautiful weekend!
