Cool. I quit doubting pretty much anything showing up where I fish in big bend. It's all I can do to go scalloping a couple of times a year. Used to doubt 14' hammerheads where I fish, tiger the size of a great white, 10' mako coming airborne with 6' tarpon in mouth, small whales, so have no reason whatsoever to doubt a great white showing up.

I seen a Great White off Tampa about60 miles offshore. We were fishing for red snappers and it swam across the back of the boat. About 10' or so and big around as a 55 gallon drum. Big eye looking at us as it swam was a bit intimidating. It was a remarkable site and I was glad to have seen it from inside the boat. No jumping in to cool off that day!

I don’t know him but this guy goes to the same dive shop I do. I didn’t think they came up here till I saw this and it’s always in the back of my mind when I roll of the boat.

There have been a few caught off of the beach and piers over the last couple of years. Not sure there were any doubters.

Sounds like a challenge to me.

I saw the footage. I still think it was a Black Tip. However, a 10 ft Shark of any kind is big enough.

Two great white sharks swimming in the ocean spied survivors of a sunken ship.

“Follow me son” the father shark said to the son shark and they swam to the mass of people.

“First we swim around them a few times with just the tip of our fins showing.”

And they did.

“Well done, son!

Now we swim around them a few times with all of our fins showing.”

And they did.

“Now we eat everybody.”

And they did.

When they were both gorged, the son asked,”Dad, why didn’t we just eat them all at first?

Why did we swim around and around them?”

His wise father replied, “Because they taste better without the shit inside!”

Saw one 15 or so years ago off Venice, La......not a soul believed us. My friend, who is now a reputable offshore guide, and I laugh about it quite frequently. First time and last time I saw a fish that made me step back from the gunnel of the boat.

There was one landed from the beach at Bunces Pass in the 70's (maybe even earlier), St. Pete/Tierra Verde area.
I have a pic of it somewhere.

They're out there.

Myself and few others saw that shark back then off Clearwater.

There are no fences out there and fish have fins and tails. Guess what! That's right, they can go where ever they want.

I've got a houseboat rented in Venice 5/22 to 5/28. My fishing bucket list dream trip. Not too far in great white miles. I think I'll go catch and release it on one of my days. That would be really awesome to see a great white in person. Last summer my wife had a 10' hammerhead eat a bullred off her line. The only part left was right behind his eyeballs to his lips. That was the biggest shark I have encountered and we were in awe. My wife is from the Appalachian mountains in NC and had never seen a shark bigger than about 5'. She wouldn't get near the edge of boat after that.
