Default Almost time!

Fellow East Harbor, Catawba, and Marblehead boaters ... watch out! I'm splashing on 3/31. Look forward to seeing you all out there

With this warm weather I expect to see a lot of boats splashing in the next few days. Northeast Catawba road will be slow during the week with all of the boats moving to their summer homes.

I'll be in sometime in April. Will probably take a day off to get mine ready. Just have to do fluid changes, look at stiff steering, and one small upgrade this year.

Just be mindful of the water temps and be safe.

Not sure when I am going to launch. Hopefully sometime between April 1st and 15th. I managed to get my bottom paint touchup done last month when we had a couple of 70* days so I am ready to launch.

The BlackH2oDog will be going in 3/31. I put the dock lines and bumpers on the dock yesterday.

I got an email from Bass Haven my marina that boats can go in anytime now. I don't recall ever being able to get in this early. The problem is my boat is in indoor storage with several boats in front of it so I have to wait before I can get mine out. The place my boat is gets muddy with just a little rain, it's a total swamp right now. I doubt if I could get the boat to the road without getting the truck buried in the mud. I hope the rain slows down over the next couple of weeks.

The downpour we had last night won't help you. Should be drier for the next few days.

I'm in a building too, Russ. I had a "discussion" with the guy that put me in last November. When I mentioned that the building owner and I agreed on April 1st-ish, he told me tough cookies - mid May.

I said no problem. I'll keep my 2 grand, and you can haul my boat back free of charge since you are not owning up to your end of the agreement. I got his boss on the phone also, and the story changed really fast. They arranged for me to be behind trailerable boats so that I could be moved out easily as soon as I prefer.

Not saying you had a similar story, but just thought I'd share my experience with this last year. Some of these boat yard guys have no idea who is really paying their paycheck (customers!!). Places like this could really stand a couple of customer service lessons from BassHaven!

Your post is timely. I texted the owner of the building that has stored my boat since I bought it. He is a good guy & lets me work on the boat in the storage building and has accommodated with everything I have asked him. I asked him in the text if he had an idea when he could get my boat out, this was just this past Saturday. He texted back that he would let me know. Then I get a text on Sunday that my boat is sitting out. To be honest I did not want it pulled out this soon since I have not made arrangements to get it cleaned it yet. The boat has a hard top with a full cover so it's really not a big deal, certainly not something I'm going to bitch about. My problem is the area around the buildings is a giant mud hole.

My dockage contract doesn't begin until May 1, so local storage facilities put CPM boats in the back corners of their bldgs.

I'm not on the schedule until May 8, but I'm hoping to get in sooner.

Four boats in the harbor as of today. However, I don't think they'll be getting much use with this weather. They launched all of them in the rain

No one's launching today at least not on the west side of the Harbor. Geez - it was warmer and sunnier in February.

Little ways to go yet up here. Suppose to warm back up this weekend though.

Rain, rain and more rain here in S/E Michigan. It has rained just about every day the past two to three weeks. A dry day here and there. I don't want to pull off the shrinkwrap till we have a couple of nice days.

I need 1 day to prep the boat then launch the following day. Bottom paint was already touched up back in February when we had a couple of 70* days in a row. Should have launched then.
