Default April Can't Come Soon Enough

Walleyeguy / Boataholic -

Glad to be a part of the group as well! I'm going to be in H-71. I'll look forward to seeing you around! I'll probably come up in March to do some repairs if the weather permits.

Boataholic,

Sorry for the late reply. We've got a Silverton 31C Flybridge. How about you?

Was at BH on Thursday to make a payment for spring dockage. East Harbor was iced up and the ice shanties were scattered about out there. I guess winter s here now.

That sounds great. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Stamas, I have a friend looking.

Bass Haven Boaters:

When do you guys usually put in? I have heard some people try for April 1st - and I would really like to do this since it's my first full season. Any issues I should consider? What about occasional low temps in April and freezing concerns?

Thanks!

I'm usually in mid-April but this year I will have some issues ahead of me so at this point I couldn't even guess on that.

Bass Haven lets you put in whenever you want as long as they aren't working on your specific line of docks. I have always been in prior to 4/15 and I stretch the season until around 11/15 depending on the weather. The management won't say anything to you about going in early or coming out late.

Russ,

Yes! My first full year, at least. I had about a month in the water after I bought my boat last season.

Hey Andy, looking forward to meeting you and maybe we can fish together. I fish alone most of the time but I'm trying to learn the trolling game and it's tough to steer the boat and watch the lines at the same time.

I sent you a PM.

If any of you guys decided on Bass Haven because of how much I recommended it and you mention my name to Debbie @ the Bass Haven office I will get $100 of free fuel.

Not trying to take credit for something I had nothing to do with but for $100 of fuel it's certainly worth asking so let me know please.

Russ - When I first signed up for a dock I told Debbie you recommended BH to me. I don't know how they do that free fuel thing but make sure you get that deal. If she doesn't remember or didn't mark it down I'll go into the office with you and talk to Debbie, just let me know.

Thank you for doing that. I didn't even know about the free gas until I happened to see a flyer on the bulletin board. I've recommended a few people over the years but never did anything about it.

Well the boat is a little closer to the lake, my brother-in-law pulled it from storage to Bass Haven so I can do some work on it. There are only about 10 boats that are in the water, I thought about half the marina would be in by now.
