Drove through Bass Haven yesterday. Quite a nice indoor pool they are building.

Yeah, FLA was pretty nice. Spent the month of March in Cape Coral. Had a great time and the weather was perfect. Found out what retirement was all about. The new-to-me knee is starting to come around now and I'm getting along MUCH better.

Hope to finally open up the camper later this week over on Bayshore Rd. We've REALLY got to get together so we can finally put a face to a name and have a cocktail or two!
Sounds good, Ralph!

Yes it's really nice. I think all of the larger docks are rented for the season, I'm sure the pool is helping fill the docks.

Where I keep my boat stored is a swamp and I don't think I will be able to get it out unless it stops raining for a couple of days. Doesn't sound like I am missing anything as far as fishing. Water is muddy and with all the runoff from the creeks and rivers its likely to stay muddy. I'm wondering how all of the runoff is going to effect the algae problem this summer? I bet it's going to be a bad year with green water.

Bandits 75 to 90 back took a nice 3 man limit a few miles East of Middle Bass. Dark colors and Chromes.

I watch Legacy charters on facebook and he is taking regular limits jigging the reefs as weather allows and he goes out in most anything.

The weather looks good towards the end of the week (at this point anyway). Might go out and bloody the new boats deck. Keeping fingers crossed.

Yeah, watching that forecast also. I need to get out soon, been a long Winter and feeling like a longer Spring.

I was invited on a charter Friday on Sassy Sal out of Port Clinton, it will be the first time I have been fishing this season. I will report back on how/where/what, etc.

FINALLY got out today. Forecast was 5-10 mph winds from the West, waves < 1’. Was probably closer to 1-3’ when I first launched from the State Park at Catawba, but settled down as the morning wore on. Headed North and found a significant color change line North of Green, so trolled between Green and S. Bass around the ship house and the S end of S.
Bass. Almost every time I crossed into the clearer water, I got a pull back. However, every single hit came on a blue/chrome bandit 90-100’ back, between 1.6 to 2.3 mph. I tried about a dozen other colors on the other rod at the same depth, and nothing drew any interest except the blue chrome. Finished one short of a limit in 3.5 hours, and lost 2 at the boat, since dealing with the in line boards, steering, reeling, and netting by myself is sometimes a cluster. I guess I need to invest in an autopilot or a reliable fishing partner......

I love my bow mount MinnKota Terrova with auto pilot.. No way could I steer by myself and still net fish. Been there done that and it's a cluster F&*K !

If I can get my batteries charged up, I plan on being out tomorrow for my first trip of the year.

First trip out yesterday. Trolled the area between the lighthouse and miller ferry port in 32FOW and had tons of marks but not a lot of action--4 keepers and 1 throwback in 5 hours. Most productive lure was a metallic rainbow bandit 65' back off a planer board with speed at 2-2.5. Most of the action came between 3p-4:30p.

FINALLY got out for two hours Friday morning on my new Lund. Pulled these 2 in trolling south side of Kellys. Boats broke in now so hopefully the best is yet to come. First fish in a handful of years. Good to be back.
