i think biggest factor was the baits dropped further at slower speeds. I noticed better catch maintaining speed and leads but adding an ounce of additional weight.

To rough to fish today, looks like it's supposed to be blowing all weekend.

Not too bad, as long as you don’t mind 3-5’ short period chop..... I won’t go over the holiday weekend so I don’t have to deal with the crazies at the ramp and elsewhere, but I do hope it lays down later in the week so I can give it a shot.

Perch fishing was all I did today....no perch catching. So many boats running around, I usually don't go on holiday weekends but I was bored. It shouldn't surprise me when boats run through anchored boats so close that I could cast a line and hit them but today I had 2 boats that ran so close to me I couldn't believe it. When a boat wake hits your boat 4-5 seconds after a boat goes by you they are obviously way to close.

Anyone have an update on where all of the perch might be hanging out? The last several seasons I started catching perch the last week of August and it stayed good up to November. This year is appears nobody can find where the hell the perch went. I was out on Sunday and one of the Port Clinton head boat Ms. Jill was fishing about a mile off the west side of Kelley's so they are making a long run trying to find perch. For the first time since I can remember I have no perch in my freezer!

Curious if anyone has fished out of Vermillion lately?

Going to have a rare opportunity to go out tomorrow and Vermillion is where I'll launch.

Took my nephew and two of his kids out fishing today. I was lucky to put them on some nice walleye. They reeled everyone of them in, with a bit of help from Dad of course. They were still talking about the trip when they got home 2 hours after they left. Here's a few pics. Oh, got them all on crawler harnesses east of Kelley's.

Well, I bit the bullet and tried perch fishing today. It ended up being a complete bust, not even a nibble, after three hours and six moves. I launched at Catawba and started out west of the huge pack that was north and west of the Catawba can, moved north a couple times, then to the firing range cans. (Firing range was active with some pretty large stuff, btw.) Did a few moves there as well and gave up around 11.

The weather was great, but the fish didn’t cooperate, at least for me. I had Goldies and they were pretty big, so I was cutting most in half, as well as suspending above bottom. When I got back to the ramp, the parking lot was full, so lots of people trying, but did not see a single fish taken. I guess I should have run east of Kellies and fished for walleye.

Yupper. Sitting on the boat now with the three kiddos over in Holland. Not much in the way of fishing, but will maybe wet a line tomorrow off the stern for some perch.

Glad you are still getting them. This fall should be a good bite from the looks of it.

Default Fall Eyes

Nice grade of Eyes between the CP and Huron Dump.
Mostly the same deep leads as the past months but closer to home. 130 2 oz

You name it and it worked last weekend.

Flicker Shad
Jointed Flicker Shad
Reapers
Ripplin Redfins
Bandits
Bomber Long As
Reef Runner
Walleye Diver

Whites and Orange colored baits did well for me.
