Default Kicker info?

I was wondering if any knew the hull weight capacity on my 2001, 16.6ft Aluminum Lund adventure series?
I would like to throw a 5 or 8hp kicker on for trolling.
Also, what size would be best for this boat.
Thank you in advance.

What's the primary outboard on it? What's the total HP rating on the USCG plaque?
8 would be almost overkill from a performance/expense perspective I think. Most of the bigger 20 foot fiberglass fishing boats have that size.

The Yamaha 4-6 HP engines are 59 lbs, Hondas are 60 lbs,

To move up to a two cylinder you have to get the 8 HP, Tohatsu is the lightest just over 80 lbs...

In that size boat, I think I'd invest the money in a nicer, bigger electric trolling motor. The tech now allows you to do so much more than you can with a kicker...

Boat that size, I too would go with a bow mounted trolling motor. I think you'll find it more useful than a kicker.

Possible exception would be if he's doing a lot of trolling for Trout and Salmon, but in that size boat your days are a bit limited.
