Default Do you know Georgian Bay

Creekwood and I were playing a game of guessing where on Georgian Bay and the North Channel (Lake Huron) various pictures were taken. If you think you know one of the best cruising grounds in North America, then you should recognize some of these. Or post yours - I'll figure it out (as long as there's something identifiable)

Technically not actually on the Bay, but your boat would be...

I will try. I haven't done the north channel:

1. Franklin Island
2. Indian Harbour
3. Topaz Lake
4. Honey Harbour approach from Severn Sounds
5. One of the islands east of Giant's Tomb or north of that (Pine?)
6. Killarny lighthouse

Indian Head rock, covered portage cove. Never have seen it first hand, but its in every boaters photo library that has been there.

I am REALLY looking forward to retirement in a few years so I can take the time to do the Northern end of the bay and North Channel. My work schedule (for like the last 20 years) has limited by ability to take the required few weeks off in the summer.

Nice. Is that your place? Our place is on the beach on Nottawasaga Bay (boat in a marina in Penetang). We have been getting pounded with high water and waves all winter so definitely not as pretty as your spot these days.

Ah. Now I see that is a Parks canada building/dock.

A friend of mine is down that way on Moore point. Very different from the beach life over on our side. Would love to pick your brain some time about Marco Island. I am planning to buy a place on the Gulf at some point and plan on a canal home. Marco is on the list of possibilities as is Punta Gorda and possibly Cape Coral.
