Default Which Marina

I have had my WC246sf at the public marina(st clair shores library) on Lk ST Clair for a few years. It has a big pool which my son and wife love but it far from good fishing grounds like the rivers. Does anyone know of a good marina that is close to the Detroit river and perhaps has a pool to?

Have you considered IN the Detroit River?

If I were to move the boat back to Michigan, I'd almost certainly go back to the DYC. I liked it 17 years ago, but it's SO much more now. The island is 500% better than it used to be, so there really isn't a better place for a family on the entire lake.

An indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub, outdoor bar, snack bar, restaurant, tennis courts, clubs and activities for adults and kids. There's even a beach with clean, clear water and beautiful sand.

When I was there, the club offered ways to avoid the drama of the city and the island, but now it offers the best way to be close to all the growth and excitement of the city and the island. Also, back then it was run by old, closed-minded snobs who liked rules and hated change and didn't even enjoy actually boating. Now the club is full of younger people and families who embrace change and welcome people.

It's a no-brainer IMO.

Thanks Roller I will look into it. Any other suggestions would be considered as well. I am getting the itch to do some jigging in the river.

Riverside or Keans on the river
Beacon Cove has a pool, further away
I think you need to live in the GPs to use their marinas but Pier Park is nice.

Was a member at Beacon Cove for a couple of years. Not much of a pool there and the birds there seem to always have diarrhea. I am thinking closer to Detroit River vs St Clair river. Am trying to contact the places you guys recommend. The DYC number is constantly busy, Keans does not look like has much of a pool (from the pictures on the web). Still looking.

You can also contact the DYC by submitting a contact form on their website or emailing "membership" at dyc.com.

They will likely offer a personal tour of the facility. I hope you give it a shot. It has character. The building is old and there's always something on the piers that needs attention, but pride and care is beyond evident. There's a whole committee dedicated to things like putting flowers in planters. The place becomes picturesque almost overnight.

Even if you don't rent a dock there, you can get a social membership that allows you to take full-advantage of the amenities.

It seems I need to pay for the slip and for membership at DYC. It would cost more then twice what I have been paying at the public marina. Any other suggestions?

Bell Maer, MacRay, and Island Cove on the north end of the lake.
Geographically, what area are you commuting from?
