Default Anyone been to Torch Lake Michigan?

Planning a trip in July and looking at a campground on elk lake. Is it navigable to torch lake with a 26’ CC? I see there’s a bridge there and possibly some shallow waters when entering lake Skegemog, anyone have and experience up there?

Not an issue. If it is your first time up in that area enjoy. It really is some of the best this country has to offer.

If you get a chance, head out to the Manitous. You can take a ferry or put your boat in at Leland and drive over. With the ferry you can get out and walk the island.

I will check that out. Hoping the weekend after the 4th won’t be too crazy busy up there.

I would never put a boat in Torch Lake. It makes no sense that water that clear would float a boat. It just doesn't look right - I don't trust it.

Torch,is beautiful. Very Big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on that lake.

A few years back we had a really good time catching Atlantic salmon but they stopped stocking.

It will still be busy the weekend after the 4th. The summer really starts around the 4th and great weather lasts about six weeks. But don't let that dissuade you. This is amongst the best boating and cleanest water you'll find anywhere.
