Default Upgrade recommendations

I currently have a Garmin 541s on a 20 ft cc. Fish mostly nearshore and inshore. I'm interested in my options for upgrading or adding a stand alone gps on a budget. Thanks.

Greetings:
We are glad to help. I need more information so we can be more precise with our recommendation.

1) Are you looking to replace the 541s with a larger display and if yes, what is the minimum size. The size of the display can be limited by budget and physical constraints.

2) 541s sis a sounder but you mentioned stand alone chartplotter. Are you looking to kepp the 541s as your sounder and adding a second unit just as a chartplotter.

What is you timing requirements on this.

7 inches would be minimum display size. I would prefer a combo unit but would consider a good deal on a stand alone chart plotter to keep the 541s as a sounder. No real time constraints. Budget would be $750 or less. Thanks.

Greetings:

From the info you have provided so far, I will recommend the Garmin 70s. It is much better than either 740 or 740s even if they were available today from a processor and sonar stand point. 70s does not do radar but I do not think that is a requirement for you.

Check out the specs at the Garmin site and see if you agree with the recommendation.

eMail us at [email protected] for pricing as we cannot post pricing on forums to be compliant with forum and manufacturer terms and conditions.
