Default Furuno

I have a furuno depth sounder 585?? Not sure of #.that has moisture in it
can it be repaired by me or should it be sent in or replaced?

Greetings:

I can only recommend sending it to Furuno. If it is under warranty and you try to do any on it, you run th risk of voiding any existing factory warranty. If it is not under warranty, I will call Furuno and ask for an estimate to fix it and make an economic decision between sending it to Furuno for repair and simply buying a replacement.

I will also put a lot of weight on the fact that these units are fairly critical to safety and/or livelihood. Sometimes, it is simply time to replace the unit and save yourself the headache. There is always something to be said about enjoying new equipment after getting passed the agony of having to spend more money.

Thanks for the quick reply,its and old unit....no warranty and I have other systems,was just
Thinking I could remove face plate to remove moisture.
