Prop help

Hello everyone, I have 05 yahama 225 3.3l
I currently have 14.25 x 19p prop. At wot my max rpm is 5000. Looking for help on what would be my best option. Either Mercury or yahama prop.

I am not an expert, but, it sounds like you need to reduce the pitch by an inch in order to reach your Max RPM.
What is the max RPM for your motor as listed in the manual?

have you checked yamaha's prop selector tool?

Yamaha.net

guessing you'll probably need to drop to 15p. i was in the same boat -- figuratively speaking -- and went from 19p to 15p to get me to around 5700/5800 rpm with the same motor on my 23 scout.

Hello

Please advise if the engine is a two stroke or four stroke and also provide a brief description of the vessel as well as the WOT speed reached.

Standing by!

Need help - I have a 2003 22" pontoon with a 135hp Mercruiser Alpha One 3.0 I/O. (not an outboard). The manufactor RPM range is 4400-4800. My RPM is 4600 at WOT right now with a 16x14p aluminum prop which is in the middle. It got damaged and I want to replace it, most likely with a S/S prop. I want overall better performance(hole shot and speed plus better turns). Should I stay with a 3 blade or goto a 4 blade plus should I change size or stay the same?

Hello PMikel

We have several options, A 3 blade Enertia or Q3 with the enhanced blade geometry would be a good replacement for your aluminium prop. Also Powertech offers a WBB series in a 15 .5 x 14 pitch. They also offer the WBB in a 4 blade configuration. If the vessel is currently performing acceptable with the 3 blade prop, going to a stainless like the Enertia is a good upgrade all around. For turning you can add cup to the new propeller to increase the bite while turning.

Please call for pricing or visit our website, www.generalpropeller.com

We will be glad to help you!

Thanks for the response but are you saying a 16x14 S/S Enertia prop or an Enertia 15.5x14?

PMIKEL 05-04-2021 08:24 PM

4 stroke. Regular 135hp 4 cylinder engine, not an outboard.

GeneralPropeller 05-05-2021 07:44 AM

Not the Enertia Eco, the Enertia series 15 1/2 x 14...
