Custom Boat Prop Help
#1

I have re built an old 22 cabin I/o into a cc boat with a bracket and outboard. It has a DF 200A inline 4 Suzuki. The boat weighs 4400# with half fuel. With one person and this load I get 5400 rpm and @ 45mph w.o. This boat is stern heavy but large trim tabs keep it in check fairly well. I would like to increase low and mid range performance and gain some stern lift. The boat likes to cruise around 25 mph and in rough seas 18-20 is best as it is a mod V hull. Speed is not a concern. Goals: reduce plane speed, gain stern lift, Increase low and midrange handling and performance.
Current prop: Suzuki 3x16x21 5R
Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon,
I apologize for such the delay getting back to you on this. For some reason we stopped getting notifications and we just saw your post. If you are still looking for a recommendation I would recommend trying the Powertech LFS 4 Blade 19 pitch and see how that does. The 4 blade should give you more stern lift than your current props. That combined with the reduced pitch should increase your hole shot, and you should see better overall performance. We have that prop available in our demo inventory if you wanted to give it a try. Feel free to give us a call to discuss more at (941) 748-1527 or if you want to try out the prop you can fill out the demo sign up form and we will reach out to you to get it set up. https://www.generalpropeller.com/Prop-Demo-Sign-Up-Form
