Thanks for remind me that I have half a key lime pie in the refrigerator waiting to be eaten.

Those premium pies in the frozen food section of good grocery stores also use the same recipe. Yumm!

have had Key Lime Pie from 87109 > 33040

and MANY places in between

the best has always been @ 500 Duval St in the 33040 zip code

may have something to do w/ the ambiance of the particular location ;-)

There was a lady on key Largo that made amazing key lime pies. Her business was called Doris' Key Lime Pies. It was hands down the best KLP I have ever had. She retired in 2008 or so.

The guys at the Pink Pig BBQ on Vaca Key make a deep fried KLP that's yummy. I make an amazing key lime pie fudge in my business and I exclusively use Nellie and Joe's in making it and we make our own graham cracker crust too!

On our fourth pie. So easy to make; so damn good.
No longer a beer belly, now it's a pie belly.

I found using ripe limes are definitely more tart but the bottled stuff is not bad.

I tried to bring back some bottled stuff from Florida but the TSA took it. Will have to try it.

Well damn. That's about 13 minutes from where I sit. Not much for that place, but if the key lime pie is good...

If you are going to make your own crust, put a few ginger snaps in there with the crackers.

I make a lemon pie similar to the key lime pie recipe here and I use vanilla wafers for the crust. It's delicious.
I'll have to try the key lime recipe, it looks delicious.

Are ya'll making the graham cracker pie crust or buying them? I've been to Food Lion, Lowe's Foods, and even braved Walmart during tourist season. No one has em.

made another pie this weekend -- this time we bought key limes and squeezed out the 1/2 cup juice -- the pie did not turn out so great

prior, we had been using the store bought key lime juice and the pies turned out great, this time it was too much lime flavor and almost instantly i was gassy but OK -- the admiral on the other hand probably doesn't want to be mentioned but lets just say we won't be eating more of this pie

might have been the limes, July probably isn't the best time of year for good citrus though I'll be hesitant to juice my own in the future
