Jerky wet to dry yield

Making a big batch for the family for xmas gifts. I've never kept track of the difference, but does about a 3:1 wet meat to jerky yield weight ratio sound right?

I just did a big batch of venison jerky but didn't weigh before or after. But 3:1 sounds about right.

You're welcome for my totally useless post.

I usually figure 2:1 but 3:1 would be a safe bet for what you're doing. Only downside would be that you either have to give more away or eat more yourself.

Neither scenario sucks.

Yeah. I never weighed it dry, but it seems to be somewhere right about 3:1. I usually do 2lbs wet per person. Never tried to calculate the before/after difference before.
