Default Savannah Dockage

Making a trip down to Savannah and was looking to stay downtown. Other than the Westin, are there any other hotels that have dockage available? The Westin would be the ticket, but their docks have a lot to be desired for based on what I have read.
Boat is a GW282.
TIA

Yes. The Hyatt has requirements and fees. There are other docs also. Some require 30fy minimum length. Others you better call ahead. They also have a public dock but is often closed during special events.
Better call ahead wherever you are staying.

You're pretty limited on dockage downtown. The city public dock has been off limits for quite a while due to an accident. The Hyatt, Westin and docks near Joe's Crab Shack are about your only choices. The docks near Joe's are private and require a reservation and there's not a lot of space. Your best bet is to find you a VRBO on the water with a dock and Uber it downtown or to Tybee for food and entertainment. Shoot me a PM and I can help you get around.

The city docks are not usable at this time they are working to award the repairs now. They should be up in running again I hope in next six months. Westin docks are in terrible shape and very rough on Savannah River same with Hyatt and the Hyatt does not seam to want boats they looking for commercial only.

Best bet would be thunderbolt area several marina's and short uber ride to downtown.

Best regards,
Jim

Due to the limited dockage and many comments about the amount of wake on the river, we are now looking at Hilton Head as an option.
Thank you for the information about Savannah.

Anytime! Look at Harbour Town Yacht Basin really close to the ocean and easy access to Savannah about 35-45 minute trip to Savannah Area. Best of luck. Jim

I wouldn't rule out Bluffton either. Palmetto Bluff is a tough spot to beat and has all of the amenities you need.

Broad creek marina on HHI. not too far n the N side of the island.

Shelter cover and Harbor town are the more higer end spots.

south beach marina in sea pines is nice for smaller boats.

Too bad palmetto bay was destroyed in the hurricanes.

Is there anywhere to dock up for dinner? My wife and I are moving to Dutch Island and would love to go downtown by boat for a few hours. Paying to dock is fine.

There's a dock near Spanky's which I think you have to pay for, not sure but I think it's with the people who have the car park there.

We went downtown o the River this past Sunday. I know people with the Hyatt, but on River Street I didn't see anywhere to dock that wasn't private or hard to get too. Its a shame Savannah hasn't fixed the public dock. From Dutch Island, you might be quicker to Tybee which has AJ's, Crab Shack, and a couple of other places on the water.

Thanks! I'm starting a Google Doc with my wife that has all the locations.

Any websites like this for GA that show all the boating places to grab food?

I live in the area (county dweller)and keep my boat down at Hogan's in Turner Creek. They have a nice facility, and even nicer people. Fun place to dock and walk next door to Cheers for a beer and a sunset. I've stayed at the Westin a few times and really enjoy it. It's nice to take the free ferry across to river st and back. Feel free to PM if you want any more info about the area.
