Captiva March 30-April 6
#1

Going to Captiva for week late March. By a combination of work schedules, etc., I am driving solo, will get there March 30. Wife and three kids 17, 15, 8, will be there March 31. Couple of questions--
Where should I fish (no boat) starting early morning March 30--thought about renting a Kayak in Ding Darling, or maybe just fish around blind pass.
If I wanted to rent a boat for the day after the family arrived--any recommendations on where to rent nearby? I would probably stick to the bay side, and my kids (two older are girls, younger son) all like to fish (although the middle child gets sea sick easier than anyone i've ever seen). I have also read on here some debates about heading north versus south due to water quality from discharge--is that an issue in March/April?

I spent a week on Pine Island, 01/30/19 to 02/07/19, with my boat I pulled down there and a lift at the house we rented. This is East of Captiva, across Pine Island Sound from Captiva.
There are boat rentals on Captiva, I rented one in 2007 for a day from there.
Fishing without a boat, from what I saw in the area is going to be hard.
Fishing on the inside, look for holes in the sound. That sound is challenging, You can be in 10 feet of water, and it goes to 2 feet real fast.
I watched my GPS, and used a chart to locate deep holes in the sound, to find some as deep as 20 feet. That is where the fish hang.
The passes also are a great place to fish.
If you can get to the pass by land, that is where i would start.
