Used to fish it for snook in the 80s from a boat. Used to be great skiing/hydrosliding as well. Spent a lot of time on it as a kid.

Fished it quite a few time's. I never caught any big bass but usually had steady action. Always by boat though.

Use to be able to run north all the way north back to the I-95 overpass. But they put up an damn. Still a good amount of fishing. Going south the canal gets skinnier.

Are you asking about freshwater or saltwater side of the spillway?

Been years but the snook used to be fairly common when the spillway was flowing.

For fresh side, there is a ramp just south of Indiantown road which you can see as you go over the bridge. Turn south at the McDonald’s.

Is that ramp open again? As far as I know that ramp is closed. It was a few years ago anyway and I haven't tried it recently.

You can leave your truck and trailer in Kennedy Estates without worry.

They just run up from the intercoastal. It's kind of a pretty run.
