Went over Thursday. Ran channel for yft. Everytime you stopped on birds, there were three boats on you within 10 minutes. A few boats caught them. We only caught 3 artics and a 15 pound dolphin that day. Friday, 3 25 pound dolphin, 25 pound wahoo.

You can catch dolphin in the channel but they are more than likely under a frigate bird and not the flocks.
There are several current breaks that hold weeds and fish as well.

Old Bahama Bay has some great properties there and the slips are a few steps to customs and immigration. Blue Marlin Cove has some nice properties but I always run into more bugs there. I haven't made the run in a little while but I hear Old Bahama Bay is going through a transition phase. Diving / Snorkeling is all around you there- have a good time!

Received confirmed reports and photos that OBB is fully open and operational. Pool, restaurants, bars slips , fuel dock and customs, all open.
Sounds like it is and will be, better now than ever before. Capt. Billy/Right Stuff

Everything is back to normal. Restaurants open, teasers open, pool open, wifi was better than before, marina surprisingly full to about 60 percent. Luckily, they were able to keep most everyone employed and they are getting back to normal. If you can, go and enjoy. Customs is on a hard detail on what you are bringing on your boat. Number of rods, spears, food, etc.. Looking for people bringing stuff over and not paying duty so be careful.

Hillsboro, If I bring a little something over as a gift, say 5 gallon bucket of paint for example...Lets say value of $100-$150....Any idea what I should expect to pay in terms of a duty?

I would read the laws, I would argue it’s worth under $100.

The issue is that they are regularly going on the boats to check. I guess you could dock up, pull off what you have asap and then clear, but you are playing with fire there. Here is a link to an example page.

Also, I do troll teasers and dredges, but mainly on the edge. Lots of water to cover in the channel and if you are not in the right area, it will be a long day.

If they check each boat it could be a long wait to clear.

Here's 2018 if anyone cares. I think the only change is the jump in VAT to 12%. I love looking at the example of a $10,000 car that costs $9000 to import.

50% on paint, VAT is 12% on top of invoice WITH Duty.

Just back to Freeport from OBB, all operational pool bar, Resturant, boats in marina, Stayed in a villa.
Like nothing ever happened.
