Default Bradenton River Regatta

Just moved to the area and figure Ill check it out (looks like a big party) but wondered about what it was like from anyone who's been.

I found the map and it doesn't look like there's much of a view from the water (either West of the Green Bridge or East of the RR Bridge while the races are going on in the middle). We're up river a bit so my only option would be up East or get stuck on the other side for the day as it doesn't look like there will be any through traffic allowed during the events.

I'd love to hear of someone's experience who's been by boat: Can you see the races, were there a lot of other boaters, if the whole river is closed is it for the entire day, etc.

Ive worked the race three years in a row. Cant see much from the river, but then again I am usually busy keeping the security zone. You will get stuck on either side of the river during the races.

OK, found out for myself and just anchored up just inside the railroad bridge. Actually pretty good seats for the races but tough to on the photos (trying to catch those little buggers at that rate of speed through the bridge supports was quite a challenge). Looked like there were a good number of boats on both sides and I tried to catch as many as possible on the up-river side. I posted most on the Facebook page but here are a few:
