So do we ! !

What was the total mileage on your last trip? Do you remember or even pay attention? FYI - we got that 100ft dock and spare two bedrooms in Bimini if you're interested - it's a family friendly trip.

Crossing from the St. Lucie Inlet and running straight to Spanish Cay to clear on June 8th.

I’m referencing Explorer Chartbook-Near Bahamas and the first waypoint roughly due east of St. Lucie is called Little Bahama Bank at 27° 06.50’ N, 79° 10.00’ W. Is this point also known as White Sand Ridge? If not, does anyone know the coordinates for White Sand Ridge?

Is high tide a must? I plan on crossing through there around 10am next Friday which will be on a rising tide but closer to the lower end of it. My 41 holds around 4' of draft.

There are 4-5 boats leaving from Ft. Pierce on June 8 headed in tne same direction of Elbow Cay. Maybe we can all all meet up early in the morning to make the run across.

I’m not sure that’s going to work... I’m starting about 22 miles south of you guys.

Nope just local offshore trips. June 10th.

I got a few #s that are old, but maybe they pan out. I have three (3) plans:
  1. Hire someone at the dock; I heard about a guy named Leroy who is supposed to be good
  2. Follow a boat that looks like they know what they are doing until they turn around and give me numbers so that I stop following them..Obviously this plan comes with certain risk, haha
  3. Send my daughter around the marina, "Please help, my dad doesn't know what he is doing and I just want to catch fish." She will probably do this anyway.....heck, that's what she does at our marina here in Jacksonville.

You may have heard about Leroy from me. Can't recommend him enough. The money is very well spent. Just my humble opinion.

I may have!!!

I can't get the phone number you gave me to work though. It just drops the call after I dial it. I have international calling on my cell, use it all the time for work...maybe he shut it off?

Does he hang around BG? I can always ask for him if I don't get him on the phone.

That's strange. Have you tried calling at different times of day? I wonder if he's just out of cell range on someone's boat and that's why it isn't going through.

He hangs out all over the north island, but he fishes every day either on a client's boat or commercially. Last time I was there he was working on a big commercial conch order.

If you call Seacrest, or probably any other non-RW hotel, and ask for his number, they'll likely have it. Or, if you're already there, you can ask almost anyone and they'll know him.

Best of luck,

Jeff

Went in June last year....thinking about going for New Year's this year.....what say you, THT??? Too cold or still a great time?? Would probably fly and rent a boat instead of crossing with the family.

Great time of year in Abaco. We were there last December 5-10 and it was beautiful. Good idea to not plan crossing by boat during that time.
