I haven't stayed there yet but the Hilton has a marina right there as well. Our plan is to dock there the night before we head out. I believe they quoted me around $50 for the night for my boat plus we will be spending the night there before we cross over.

Holy crap, don't recall it being that expensive. Ask about the off season rates. There's another hotel around there where you can dock for the night somewhere.

We left the truck and boat there (Harbor Town) one evening and took an Uber to a Holiday Inn about 15 minutes away.

We locked the poles in the truck but left everything else on the boat and didn't have an issue, coolers, life raft, etc. It seems to be a safe place. It seems to be a decent location.

I have a question about how important wind direction is for crossing. I've read multiple times that north winds are bad for crossing. I curiously looked at WindFinder and they're showing 1 ft seas and around 10 kt North conditions for Monday. Sees like it'd be perfect to cross. Sunday has western calm winds with 1ft seas as well. I'd see no problem going out in that.

Sunday is very calm. My son may day trip it over to Bimini. 10 kts. out of the north on Monday doesn't sound too bad, but if there's lots of north current in the Stream, it may be a bit bouncy for part of the ride. For instance, my son was sword fishing today and he said the north current was ripping up to 6 kts. and he had some 8-10 foot waves where they were fishing.

Default Harbour Towne Davie

Towing down from Port Canaveral. Not sure about parking. You have any feel for how crowded Harbour Towne will be July 3rd?

Installed a some more equipment that gives me more peace of mind/comfort, but it makes me want to go sooner. The Mercury Vessel View mobile module is working great and I like how it tells me all the important info. Surprisingly, I had a max distance of 148 miles with three men and our gear yesterday. This was cruising at almost 4k rpm in 2 foot waves. I'll still probably carry an extra 5 gallon gas can just in case.

I haven't seen this covered, so I'll ask. Being that crossing is weather dependent; how do you guys work with the hotels there in cases of having to change arrivals or stay longer? We're scouting out places to stay and marinas. The Hilton looks nice but I'm not sure if they'll give up space for a non-yacht.

I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge you guys take the time to provide.

Very Crowded. Best of luck with that one. The best thing would be to make a call early to see if you can reserve parking

I have returned from Bimini on the 3rd to Harbotown. There was only 2-3 spots. It was crowded and tight. I pretty sure it 1st come policy.

As much as I like admiring pretty woman, I'd rather suck start my shotgun than stay at the resort while that is going on. Feel free to post pictures from the event though.

If for some reason you leave on the 3rd, you can buddy up with us. We’re leaving out of Harbour Towne.

Happy to see the official Bimini threads still going. I remember them from a while back (long time lurker) and I always read through them before a trip. It has been a few years since visiting the island, life events have kept me busy. I hope to make a trip over soon. But from what I see online about the island now...that Resorts World that used to be Bimini Bay has really taken a toll on the island and it is no longer what it was. I used to go over 3-4 times a year starting in the early 1990's up until a few years ago. The Big Game Club has always been my favorite place to stay. The Sands is nice as well. Been to the Sea Crest a few times which is also a nice place if you like it quiet.

I have a free second entry that expires March 17th. Trying to use that. Leave from Boca. Anyone is welcome to come along as long as you can run at least 28 mph.
