We took a ride through there and their beach club last time I was over there, saw some weird looking folk around, men in speedo's and that kinda thing. I'd stay away.

the waves on the ocean side were huge....a little bit of splash over that 15ft seawall by Bimini Bay. Impressive to say the least for it being so far away.

Thanks! We are also looking into other places close by. I want to stay on the North end I believe and looking into a house or condo that still may allow access to the amenities there. I think ice will be ab issue so I would like to have a house with a full size fridge so we can make some ice blocks while we are there.

We are planning to head over June 8th and come back on the 15th. How is the fishing during that time?

That may be the case at the Mega Marina, but the Fisherman's Village Marina just charged us by the actual length of my boat back in July. I paid for only the 18ft my boat is.

I've never paid that kind of moey for dockage there. I don't particularly love RW but my wife and kids do. Not sure about dudes in speedos but I do know the weekend crowd in Bimini as a whole is different than the weekday crowd. Weekends it gets crowded and the guys with boats that have stereos that cost more than my entire boat think entry one wants to hear their music. Then it becomes a competition between boats as to who is the bigger DB (and I don't mean decibels).

Weekdays is much quieter. I prefer RW on weekdays way more than on weekends. Weekends I would only stay in South Bimini or maybe BGC, but that's just me.

I wonder how the big murder investigation of Alain Perez is going? Still tracking down leads and interviewing possible witnesses and suspects I bet.

They had a big raid while we were there in June. They detained nearly 40 people on various charges including drugs and guns. They do reference the two murders including Perez as one of the reasons for the raid. At least 4 of those people were sent to Nassau for trial. None of these people were named as directly involved in the murders.

the people who murdered Alain Perez came from somewhere other than Bimini and left immediately thereafter.

Hey guys new member and I have a new Robalo 247. I am planning a guys trip for May 15th 2020. I am pretty sure I am set on bimini. Half of my friends are telling me that West end is better for fishing. We are going for the primary purpose of mahi and yellow tail along with some snorkeling and spearfishing. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Also if anyone is going around that time a boating buddy would be good.

Bimini is prob your best bet. I hope you have not forgotten the number Dorian did on the west end. The resources are limited, especially fuel and that 247 isnít a big range boat.

Very true, it does hold 140 gallons of fuel and I regularly do 80 miles round trip on gulf side and have plenty of fuel left. I will be leaving out of Biscayne marina when I go to bimini. Thanks for the help
