What's in the water in early March?
Canadians and New Yorkers on Spring Break. Cobia/Kings/Sails- larger dolphin start toward the end of month...

Cobia and Kings sound good.
Out in the Stream or closer in?

Cobia and Kings nearshore. Sails typically 90-180’ give or take. Dolphin typically a bit deeper depending...

Trolled some ballyhoo on flatline, 1 on a seawitch and another weighted down below for about 3 hours out of stuart yesterday. Not a single bite. Weather was fantastic and had a great time on the water but no fish. Tons of sportfishing boats with the kites up from 70-85' but didn't see a fish raised. Got a little sporty coming back in the inlet around 1pm but had a blast.

Had a buddy go out yesterday (Stuart). 1 sail, 1 gaffer dolphin, 1 keeper dolphin. Don’t have depths.

Bottom fishing in on-fire in all depths. Top fishing is slow but the weed patches full of bait are out there. Just nothing on em.

Family was in town from up North, so of course I took them out yesterday along the river. Went all the way to the inlet, let them see the 'pretty' whitecaps (4-6 foot waves), did a U-turn and went back to the dock. But a few days ago they were in freezing temps and snow, so they didn't care that the wind was whipping and it was 'only 65 degrees'.

Planning on taking the boat to Stuart this weekend and doing some offshore fishing. I have been out of St. Lucie inlet many times going to the Bahamas but never fished there. Any advice on trolling that area would be greatly appreciated.

Saturday is winds up to 30mph out of sw. Stay close to beach. Sunday actually looking good.

Got bait right out front of SLI in 45" and ran south to loran tower. Went 2/2 on sails drifting. When the West wind finally kicked up we got 3 stud boneheads (One was 36" ) and missed a decent king on the kite. Nice day on the water.

Got a real late start today. Hit the inlet at 1130 and went straight East till we found some weeds. Very scattered but we did find a line with patches. Landed 2 gaffers and a 24”. Had 2 real nice phins go airborne on the lures but missed the hooks. Caught them in 130-145 on blue/white and pink/white islanders and black bart micros. Called it at 2:30 due to the significant increase in wave height
