Default Boat Poker Run Madeira Beach fundraiser for Veterans. Oct 6, 2018 ***UPDATES***

The American Legion Post 273 will be open to the public for this event. Everyone is welcome at the Post on this day!!!

Here is a fun event that we are putting on to raise money for our Veteran's Boat Parade in Madeira Beach. You can come by boat, or by land to each of the stops. We will have a chartered van that has seating for 15. These seats will be sold for $30 first come first served and include one hand of poker. Additional cards are $10 with a max of 2 per hand.
Guaranteed first prize is $250 but that will be increased depending on number of hands that are sold.
We will have food and drink specials at each stop and of course great raffle prizes and giveaways.

Poker Run Update

Grizzly Coolers has come aboard as a sponsor so we will have two of their Grizzly Drifter 20 Softside Coolers as raffle prizes!
Sea Dogs is putting together a raffle prize pack for their stop
Madeira Beach Marina is donating a pair of Smith Optics Glasses for their raffle prize along with free hot dogs and burgers for poker run participants
The Elks will have liquor baskets at their stop
The Harbor Master Tiki Bar will have a Grizzly Cooler and Tiki Swag at their stop
The American Legion will have a Grizzly Cooler at their stop as well as many other prizes and giveaways.
There will be drink and food specials at each stop for poker run participants.
All raffle tickets purchased at each stop for that particular prize will also go into the Grand Prize Raffle Drawing for the 50'' RCA Flat Screen TV!
Saltwater Hippie will be donating swag to our event as well. Visit them online and support our local hippies! SaltwaterHippie.com

How the run works. You can participate by boat, land vehicle or purchase a ticket to ride on the Hippie Hopper Van. The open air van is available to 15 riders and will cart you to each stop to get your card.
The cost to ride the Hippie Hopper is $30 and that includes one hand of poker!

Each stop on our run will allow you to draw one card for your hand. You can purchase additional hands at the beginning of the run. No mixing of cards. We will have volunteers at each stop to hand out and record each card drawn. We will also have volunteers at each stop selling raffle tickets for that particular stops' prize. All tickets purchased will be put into the grand prize drawing at the American Legion at the end of the run.

The run will go from 9am Registration to about 3pm.

We will be giving out cash prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd place hands. First prize is guaranteed at $250. Final prize amounts will be determined after we register all of the participants at the Poker Run.

Register online at veteransboatparade.com
or at the American Legion on October 6, 2018 at 9am.

There is no particular order in which you have to make the stops. You will need to be back at the American Legion by 2pm so we can tally the winners and pull raffle ticket winners!

Proceeds go to support the American Legion Veterans Boat Parade. Proceeds from the Veterans Boat Parade go to local Veterans' Charities. We are an all volunteer staff of American Legion Members and friends that do this out of our own free will. All money collected is used to fund the actual parade event and fund our donations to the charities that help our Military Veterans. None of the volunteers associated with the parade are compensated.

The American Legion Post 273 will be open to the public Oct. 6th and will be doing a membership drive. Anyone can come by and grab a cold one at our tiki bar on the water and check out our post.

Membership is open to active duty military, retired and discharged military vets, husbands, wives, sons and daughters of military veterans.

Come out and support our local Military Veterans and have some fun with the Patriot Poker Run!

This is a leisure cruise. No racing. All of the stops are within about a 5 mile area from Madeira Beach to Treasure Island. You can hit the card stops in any order.

Boats will depart from the American Legion docks by 10:30 am and need to be back by 2pm to tally the winners.

Any size boat is welcome. You can also participate by land on your own (car, truck, motorcycle) or you can sign up for the ride on the Hippie Hopper to take you to the stops.

As of today there are still 5 spots left.

A really good time, thanks and a shout out to Madeira Beach Marina for the dawgs and burgers, it kept my guests from getting hangry. Every stop was a good time. See you in November.
