Good beer at Blue Ridge Brewery off US 76, ate there on a weekday and liked it. They had live music also.

I third blue sky cabin rentals. I will tell you, from experience, do not drive a BMW M5 convertible to the cabins. You will need an SUV of some sort. most are remote.

Lots of good wineries, particularly around Dahlonega - Check out Wolf Mountain for the ambiance, The Cottage for the view, and Three Sisters for the wine.
Plenty of hiking trails to waterfalls, and if you like hiking check out the Mountain Crossings at the top of Blood Mountain (Neals Gap) on Hwy19. Built by the CCC for AT hikers, great views.
If you like quirky there's a Sasquatch Museum in Cherry Log.
Unless you like crowded, crappy tourist traps, avoid Helen. It's gotten awful in recent years.

I am either driving my Yukon XL or her GMC Terrain. Not sure which yet. Depends on if I am allowed to tow something home.....

I did finally book a cabin this morning on VRBO. Not the ones recommended above as we will not spend much time at the cabin and those places looked like good spots to relax in the spa, or sit on the porch and contemplate life.

We are going to bike, hike, river raft, and check out distilleries, breweries, and wineries. Only really need the cabin to sleep and eat.

Google map the cabin address. We were up there for a wedding and most had the same experience we did with the roads to the cabin. it was only 2 miles off a real road but it was basically 2 miles of sharp, steep "S" curves, washed out roads...etc.

Yes I did that. Looks to be okay for either vehicle.

Bring your shotgun! There is a real nice clay shoot nearby. Also try the zip lines.

I second Mercier Orchards. Tim is a great guy and they have a nice bakery and sandwich shop.
