I'm a fan of the Hampton Inn at exit 119. Manning,SC. Another mile east on that exit is a great fast food hibachi restaurant aptly called Yummy Japanse.

I think some guys are confused, are you asking about south of Jacksonville Florida or North Carolina?

The OP is talking about Florida. The rest of us are on a tangent. It's ok. This kind of thing happens all the time around here.

When caj is in the mood to give advice, don't stop him!

I'm a rest area/Loves/Flying J guy, sleep in the truck - after walked out of a motel in SW Florida with my buddy and someone had taken some kind of saw and tried to cut trailer/boat away from the truck - cut most of the way through but something must've scared them off.

In addition, there is a decent Seafood Restaurant right around the corner, and a good sized Gate gas station on the same exit.
That would be exit 323, world golf exit.

This exactly what scares the shit out of me...I'll be setting my alarm and going to the parking lot every 2-3 hrs. At least the wife and kids will have a good night sleep...If it wasn't for my 2 three yr. olds, I'd push stright through, but it wouldn't be fare to the little guys.

First off, you can’t be more worried about Florida than Jersey.

Secondly, where are you starting? NJ to West Palm is close to 1200 miles. Making it all the way to st Augustine in one day is pretty ambitious. I have a 4 and a 6 year old and I do this a lot. No way we’d make it that far in one day.

Im pretty sure you plan to leave for the west end on the 30th. When are you leaving Jersey? Where are you provisioning?

Bahamas trips are a lot of fun. I take my kids all the time. You’re going to love it.

Feel free to call me if you want to talk about this in depth. If you break down somewhere and need to know who to call etc... Caj 303-570-4325

I do that trip all the time, I have a house up north and in St Augustine. Towing the boat, 4 kids, and a dog we normally make it in 12 to 12-1/2 hours. The key is to get around Baltimore, DC, and Richmond before the traffic hits.

Brick, NJ to St, Augustine is 945 miles. You can do that in 12 hours? That’s almost an 80mph moving average. With fuel stops and food, you would need to be going 100mph when you were driving.

I second the Holiday Inn in Brunswick Ga exit 38, most of the time they'll let you park right out front under the awning.
