Default Boat title transfer in Florida .

Hi, I am transfering a boat title into my name and I have the boat ,outboard motor , and trailer itemized on a bill of sale . Do I list the price of just the boat and trailer on the transfer of title part on title ,as those are the ones I pay tax on and register in my name ? Thank you in advance

I have searched and find lots of info on itemizing boat ,motor ,trailer . I am asking when itemizing boat, motor ,trailer what number do you write as purchase price on title when transferring into my name . I have never itemized a boat purchase before ,and prior to this seller just listed boat, motor, trailer price in purchase amount space on title. I have already purchased boat and have an itemized bill of sale with boat and motor and trailer

split it up with what makes sense, i.e. using depreciation, blue book value, or recent sale data. doesn't have to be precise, just needs to add up. you should have three separate bills of sale.

Use 3 bills of sale...do not itemize on one.

Use realistic numbers and the tax collector won't raise an eyebrow.

I recently bought one boat and sold another here in Florida. I had one bill of sale (for each boat) with the hull, trailer and motor itemized. In Florida, you only pay tax on the hull. There was no problem at the tax office. Just make sure that the price of the hull is reasonable. If you have a 2017 25 foot boat, don't try to tell them that the hull is worth $500.

On the boat title put the value of the hull.
Assuming private transaction, the itemized thing doesn't work with dealers.

I didn't itemize and they even ask for a Bill of sale. My boat was made in 1990 and I bought it from the original owners. They were memorized as many of them never saw a title that old
