Yea, Jupiter is basically a man-made inlet. Every inlet from Daytona south to Palm Beach is man-made, and I'm not sure about that one. Jupiter has closed from sand build-up several times also.

High velocity water, often a "delta" built up outside the mouth of the inlet, which changed every tide. Not for the faint of heart.

The last "natural" inlet on the east coast of Florida is Matanzas.
