Left Mayport at 5a.m. Trolled from 8a to 1p then bottom fished. We had 3 strikes on Friday: MAY 14: lost two got one nice bull in the boat: Strikes came at 220, 315 and 420 foot of water. Lone dolphin, no schools seen. Tons of weeds from 135-190 but we ran over the fish and fished deeper this day. Got some good bottom fish to fill the coolers.

Heading to South Georgia (Brunswick) next month for 6 weeks and wanting to go out for Mahi, Mackerel, wahoo, etc... Basically anything decent I can catch. I was thinking about heading south on the weekends maybe out of West Palm or somewhere I can hit the Gulf Stream. Its gotta be fairly close to the shore because I only have a 65gal tank, and not sure exactly how far out would be safe to go and be able to get back. You guys have any advice?

You wont have the range to go to the break and target pelagics. It’s 80+ Miles from Brunswick to the roll down. And, if you’re getting here in June, the majority of the dolphin biomass will likely already have moved north. Doesn’t mean you won’t luck into a couple though.

Pogies will be all over the beach, net a few dozen and slow troll for kings. Any of the public numbers will produce fish. Also, snapper will be open July 12-14 & 19-20, they’re so thick it’s hard not to catch them when fishing any structure or hard bottom.

I'm looking to travel south on trailer to West Palm or near to hit the Gulf Stream. May even cruise to Bahamas for shits and giggles.
