Default World Cruise Jan 4-April 28

Well the time is here and the wife and I are packed. Too much maybe, but got to be aboard for four months. We leave Fort Lauderdale aboard the Amserdam at 8:00 and head for grand Cayman, then to the canal, then west through the Pacific. Plan to fish when we can ,and have a few charters n the works. Plan on diving with the great white sharks in South Africa. We have planned this for years and have had it booked for 1 1/2. Total costs with in side room and a few ship tours and other cost will run about $50,000. My beer cost are going to be about $120.00 a month + when you figure 4 beers at $10.00 bucks a beer ( aboard ship ) X 30 day. O well it's only money . Will not be able to post much as the net is costly and for those that might be curious about our travel here in a link. Aroundtheworld171715094.wordpress.com. So see/ hear from me again in April . Thanks to all and get out there while you can. Tomorrow might not come . Jim

Awesome! Had an ex whose grandparents did this every year. They had what looked like custom armoires that they would have transported to the ships, how did you pack everything?

Have a great time on the DAM ship

We've been on five Holland cruises and they are still one of my favorite lines.

Getting things done today. Turned in the V W tourage on the recall, got back what we paid for it three years ago, went to bank got cash, then to boat yard to check progress on bottom and give them some money. Looks as it is going good and bottom will dry out while gone . Still packing and might have to get a uhaul to get to ship,LOL. Staying away from folks so we don't catch something and get I'll. That will be a problem once on board, when everyone else is coming from alover and bring their germs. Handwash every time. One more wake up then gone.!

That ship was in Bimini right around Christmas. Some people came to the hilton and hung out for a day I think.

Don't think that the Holland America Cruise line stops in Bimini?? But then again I didn't sleep at a Holiday inn last nite.

You are going to have a blast in Africa, especially Namibia - I'm jealous! And make sure, if you can handle it, to try Peri Peri pepper sauce - you can get it in South Africa, but the Angolans perfected it.

Oh, and don't forget the great South African beer and wines, and Namibia has some damn good beers as well.

That is going to be an amazing trip!!
When in Bora Bora check out the lagoon snorkel trip with lunch. Here is the link. Request Alex, I left him a pair of Costas as a tip when we visited. Great day on the water, the guy is a character

Be safe and have a great time!

Thanks everyone, plans are plans but not set in stone. Got a few tours / things to do in each port. Think we do have the island lunch set up, dune trip in Nambia, will find the beer at each stop LOL. Tips in Singapore would be helpful. We have the hop on /off bus planned to see the city and a few restaurants from the food channel Alan Zimmer .

Also a visit to Bloody Marys in Bora Bora is a must.
If you have time for an elegant dining experience give this place a try, amazing.
