We went 0 for 2 on sails.

Just south of us seatow and boat us righted a capsized small cc. Ocean was relatively flat. Maybe too many beer bellies all on one side?

Glad we got an early start. Picked up a sail early. Second one beat up a bait. Hooked a king but the tax man decided he wanted it. After that things really slowed down. I’m sure the fleet that was out there played a part in that. Caught 2 very large Bonita that kept the kido’s occupied. Also a couple bite offs.Tried a little bottom fishing on the way in with no luck. Fun day with the wife and kids and felt good to be out. Fish were caught drifting Gogs except the king on a herring deep. Fished out of Jupiter. Good luck to those who are going tomorrow.

Went out yesterday early. Trolled from palm beach inlet to Jupiter between the 120 ledge and 400ft caught 3 small Bonita. Switched gears and set up a drift in 120 out front of Juno and caught a nice king. Had serveral more cut offs and at least 5 more fish taken by the Sharks. After that we decided to run the beach to find the Black tips that have been all over. Found a school of about 100 just north of ocean reef park but could not get them to eat anything. Not what we were hopping for but a great day on the water.

I planned to just to the sandbar yesterday, but the gf woke me up at 7 and said let’s go fish. So I got a late start. Went south out of Jupiter.
Lots of life around 126, probably 75 birds, off Juno everyone was there. 2 fired up sails in 60ft, at this point I made a huge mistake by not buying live bait.

Trolled lures and the 3 ballyhoo that I had lol. Scattered weed.

2 peanut dolphin, 4 Bonita, had 3 dolphin af the boat that would not eat. All 156-180ft.

just find the fleet they are there

I got skunked yesterday. Trolled artificials from Jupiter inlet to Singer Island, one single knockdown around Juno in about 100 feet. Bumb trolled back with life gogs and blue runners and got a single cutoff that I never even felt (going to guess a King) and that was it. Went back in around 10:30. It was still a beautiful day to be on the water

We went out Sunday along with everyone else in South Florida who owns a boat. I marked a few different big schools of fish but couldn't get them to eat. I wonder if they were the black tips. I had no idea they traveled in big schools. But yeah, it was frustrating to see so much action all day and not get them to bite. We did see a big school of jacks moving south. Went around them a few times and couldn't get them to eat either. Saw one free jumper but too far off and no live bait.

Was dropping a chunk to the bottom and hooked something big. I'd assume at this point it was one of those black tips. I couldn't turn him and when I did put some heat on after a while I pulled the hook. We eventually managed a porgy, which I actually love, just was expecting more with all the activity.

Started the day but running a hook deep in my hand. Used the technique I've seen on youtube few times and it worked perfect. Then we got hit by this rogue wave. Anyone else see that? It was more like a set of two. When it hit it was a bit worse than I was expecting. Anyway, great to get a fairly calm day this time of year to get me out of the house.

Today was a milestone for me, it's the first time that I have been live bait fishing out of Palm Beach inlet in over 10 years. I shipped my 27 NorthCoast down this winter and over Christmas rigged up a live well but the weather didn't cooperate so I went back to New England very discouraged. Finally I'm back on a business trip and have a few extra days. I got some goggle eyes this morning a little after 7 AM and headed north towards Jupiter. Before the crowd showed up I hooked a Sailfish that jumped a few times and them spit the hook. It was great to have one on if only for a minute or so. Around 10 AM it was packed with boats all around and I didn't think I would have much of a chance getting one on my baits so I picked up and headed south of PB Inlet just north of the Breakers and started fishing in 140 feet. Within a few minutes the baits were getting spooked causing the clickers to make me jump. I was fishing solo today so it kept me busy running around the cockpit. Maybe 10 minutes later I had a solid runoff on the deep bait, gave it a ten count and set the hook on a nice solid fish. Within seconds the other two rods went off as well. Because I was by myself I put the first rod down to let Rodney fight it and set the hooks on the other two rods as well. I had sailfish jumping on both sides of the boat, it was nuts! Everyone says it didn't happen if there is no video, so since I was going to let them go anyway I said what the heck, got the cellphone and held it in my left hand along with the rod and did as good as I could. I have some really bouncy video of the fish jumping and actually got all three fish to the boat where they either broke off or got released. I pulled the plug by the time I drifted by the PB Inlet and headed home. What a fantastic day, the fishing Gods smiled on me at last.

I believe you Jake. Been there, done that except with witnesses. AWESOME.

I got 3 out of 4 during a Buccaneer Sailfish tournament. All four rods went down at once. Never forget that day.
