Yep, I found out it's not a lunch place. Try some night for dinner.
Thanks

or, if you want NICE dining, ie, grouper without the bread, try: Beachcombers on Clearwater beach, or Roys or Flemings in Tampa near the airport. All 3 rank in what I would consider some of the top restaurants in the South. Berns is a landmark and always great, or try any of the places downtown on the water, can have a fun time there as well as reasonable dinner.

lunches, not sure of; I never get to have lunch any more....

Beachcomber on Clwr beach is the best for nice dining. Awsome fish and Filet mignon. Dockside Daves for Grouper. Have fun

Since Dockside Daves moved to John's Pass it has gone downhill. The former cook, Walt opened a place in John's Pass that was great when he first opened last fall but has since gotten very pricey and his partner has a lousy attitude. There is a little dive bar in Redington Beach, next to the grouper dock, called Wahoo's that has some of the best and freshest seafood on the beach. Warning it is not fine dining but does have waterside seating and cold beer. The dock has room for one boat and sometimes there is room at the grouper dock if the boats are out.

Thanks Signmansez for the info on Daves. I have not been there since they moved. What a shame.

Wahoo's....great buffalo shrimp, wish they had more dock space.

For a good grouper sandwich (and a nice view) try the Colonnade on Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa.

But hurry, rumor has it that the site will soon be another high rise condo...

Anyone know the name of the seafood place in Clearwater near the bridge between Clearwater and Sand Key? I once ate there and it was incredible! Ahh, and memories of the Island Grill are fresh in my mind as well.

I can't believe I ever left Florida to come back up north!

I'll second the recommendation for the Colonnade - it's first class.

Many of the other recommendations - Clearwater, St. Pete Beach, etc., you posters did not read the OP's question. Clearwater and St. Pete Beach are a loooong way to go from Tampa for lunch.
