Default Boutique hotel in key largo recommendations

When I was younger I used to go down to key largo and stay at several little boutique type hotels in key largo for peanuts.

Now that I'm a bit older married with small children I would love to be able to run my boat down from Miami and stay at a nice little hotel that has a slip for my boat. Either with the kids or just with the wife

It seems like everything online is super expensive. I don't want a dump but I'm not looking for the Ritz either.

Can anyone recommend a cool little hotel?

We use VRBO to rent in a condo complex that also has a marina. I believe most of those are limited to weekly rentals so if you're looking for a weekend place that may not work for you. Marriott Bay Beach resort on the bayside is nice for you and your wife but a little pricey.

Marina Del mar is a great place with a super dockmaster - 3 hotels on site - The actual marina del mar hotel itself is probably the oldest......the courtyard and Holiday inn look nicer - easy run to the reefs for day trips.......on the bay side is plya largo - more of a spa/couples getaway and im not sure if the docks are open.....

Check out Rock Reef resort on Key Largo or Atlantic Bay in Tavernier - reasonable summer rates, ramp, docks, clean, quiet.

My guess is you need to go further south to find the kind of place you want. Plenty of quaint places in the middle to lower keys.
