We'll be out of pc tomorrow. Going to stay in shallow and see if there's any bottom bite. Sunday we will probably head out deep and try a couple new spots.

whats shallow?

I was trying to decide if I was going to the port or to clearwater.

I fish the Port way more. Like it better. But haven’t gotten grouper there and I have a few spots out of Clearwater I normally grab a few.

Got some live bait and hit a couple wrecks and reefs. Didn't do much good at all. Stayed under 100' all day. Tomorrow we plan to go deep drop, maybe deeper than we've fished before depending on how we do.

Trolled weed lines 200-400 ft with no luck. Switched to bottom fishing 300-400, caught 2 snowy groupers (kept the bigger one), and one scamp grouper. Went out to 600 for deep drop, no luck, but plenty of weed beds, so fished them. Found a lot of peanuts, and schoolies, ended up with two keepers. On the way home at 100 feet, got one trigger fish.
Passed good weed lines starting around 110. Big weed lines in the gulf stream. Beautiful day on the water!

Thanks for the report....How did you fish the weed beds @ 600? We trolled the weed lines @ 110 and caught at least 12 cudas, pretty frustrating.

We used lures, and cut bait (squid, ballyhoo, pinfish). Got both keepers on cut ballyhoo -- larger one took a combo ballyhoo on a TerroEyz. This may sound crazy to many people, but I like to eat cuda! A buddy tried it this week per my recommendation, and he was impressed with it. He won't be tossing them back anymore.

we caught 3 Cudas at those weeds and one king. But one of the cuda’s Was about 5’. Biggest I’ve ever seen. Other 2 were about 3’. Son had fun fighting the king and a Cuda. We also caught a lot sharks with live bait on a wreck. We left after the third hook up on a shark.

I did catch everything trolling off ballyhooe with purple skirts. Nothing else was bitten

I have family in town from Minnesota and we are doing a half day looking for some Kings to have some fun. Anyone have some recents reports on kings. We have to be off the water and on the road by noon so any help is appreciated.

I have a buddy that slammed a few out of Sebastian yesterday. I have not done much of that kind of fishing...

Was out today. Kings/Dolphin & no trip is complete without at least 1 cuda and 1 bonita. Pleasantly surprised with the Dolphin bite. We worked huge weed mats/lines in 100-125', but the scattered weeds will keep you busy. Boated some, missed some, with lots of shorts. They ate 2 packs of hoo in 4 hours.

I'll contribute to the lack of fishing reports.

I took a father and son out for a half day afternoon trip on Wednesday (711/18) to do a little bottom fishing. We stayed in the 90-100 ft range and did well. We caught dozens the ever present red snapper, but we also caught mutton snapper, porgy, dolphin, big blue runners, and gag grouper. The largest grouper was a 42" stud, it gave the guy a real workout! We had a group of about 10 lock jawed cobia come through as well.

I will post some pictures in the morning once I can get to a real computer.

Wow, nice!
I thought that cold water upwelling was in full effect right now in that 90-100ft range?

It's been pretty quiet in here lately , here's my bottom boat report from Monday . We pretty much fished 8a all day , got quite a few nice sows , a few larger sea bass , a couple Mother in law fish . And got broke off multiple times by some big grouper , also caught several big sandbar sharks . It has been pretty slow out there for the most part , but was a good day of almost non stop action .

I might hit the otherside , or trailer down south in the next week . There have been quite a few marlin around down there recently .

Default Fillet Table Project

Being that the weather hasn't cooperated the last week or so, I started this project, and it turned out better than I had thought it would. I have been wanting to build a fillet table for quite a while, so I looked online for some ideas and went for it. Now we just need this wind to calm down a little so I can break her in! Let me know what you think!
P.S. (For those wondering, I don't have a dedicated water line on that side of the house, so I created the system to accept the male end of a hose with a double female adapter.)
