I’ll get the wreck site off my GPS can’t remember which one it was. It was South of the number 2 bouy. About a 100 yards east of the wreck we’re about 6 boats. Literally pulling in Kings left and right. Friend of mine was on it, He called me and we rode over there from a bit south and they were popping.

The truck is great. Couldn’t beat the price. Well worth the drive.

Default Heading further out and have some questions

Hello everyone. We're getting a 24' Robalo shortly and plan to do some fishing in the GS off PC. We never went that far out in our previous boat.

What do you all recommend for emergencies? I'm planning on getting SeaTow, but obviously radio is iffy 35 miles out. Do you all get sat phones? Or just EPIRBs?

Other recommendations? Thanks.

Looking forward to posting fish pics down the road.

All I caught we’re averaging 18-22lbs. Nothing crazy. Busy got a 47lber there and said he landed another 40 lber couple days before.

But i I had my son with me so being able to hook up on a couple at a time was nice and fun.

That GOLD when you have the kids fishing. That great memory that they will never forget. Plan to head out this Sunday for some kings and then try some deep wreck for AJ and Grouper. 28 fathom wreck have been good but way north. There a couple of wreck near 27 fathom that we never try before. Hit us up if anyone head out that way. Charlie Brown on 68

when I get my boat Friday from storage I will get the numbers of where we were at. My dad and I are headed out Saturday. Gotta get bait and then want to go back to a spot I found and my son pulled up a 20lb red snapper and acouole
around 15lbs. He was stoked. He caught about 12 fish all big ones.

I just found this group. I fish out of PC regularly and I was wondering about the Red Snapper pics. I thought it was closed season in Atlantic Federal Waters. Do they never check?

they are closed to keep. But should have a 3 day season in 2 Weeks 🙏🏻 Hence why I am checking this spot and making sure we can go there. It’s more of a investigation fishing day this weekend.

I wouldn't put my money on 2 weeks. IF we get one, the earliest is probably august.

From the SAFMC: "We do not know what their decision will be, but based on the probable timeline, we’d expect a season sometime in late August assuming the amendment is approved. The amendment contains a start date of the second Friday in July for the recreational fishery and the second Monday in July for the commercial fishery. Given the complexity of the review process, these dates will be missed this year."

Ok so I thought if they where going to give us a season it was going to be a few weeks of 3 day friday through sunday fishing season.
If they do only give us only a 3 day fishing season it will be a very packed ocean with boats and if the seas are bad like they were last year the coast guard may just want to be out there to get a head start on all the calls they will get for help.I just hope we do get a season for them over here.

I think that the plan would still be a few 3-day weekends, just not starting in July like originally anticipated.

NOAA will only schedule the 2 day snapper season once their meteorologists confirm 8 foot seas @ 3 seconds and 25 knot winds for the days.

I was really hoping they’d meet the July Deadline. My luck I’ll be in the keys and have to decide to fish for Snapper or swords.
