Really nice window coming up Tues, Wed. Might give it a shot Tues if I can get off work. Thinking of staying somewhat near shore and trying to get the last of the cobia bite, then maybe hit the cans for ttail. Anyone hear anything more about the cobes/ttail bite?

Cobia bite is on fire. Been hearing / seeing reports of limiting out (Some people even over limiting and still dumb enough to post on facebook... ). Front coming thru should school them up and push them to the wrecks.

Triple Tail reports have been so-so.

Good luck guys! Please report back! I'm planning on next week or the week of the 26th, hoping for a window to open then. Work sucks!

FYI that outside of 3 miles there is no boat limit on cobia, just 2 per person, Inside 3 miles(state waters) it is 1 per person 6 boat max.

Yeah. It's all a bit confusing.

In situations where federal regulations differ from state regulations, as long as you do not stop anywhere in state waters upon your return from federal waters, you may land the federal bag limit in Florida. You MUST return to land directly and expeditiously (without stopping) once you re-enter state waters after you have harvested your federal limit. If you stop in state waters for any reason, it may be difficult to prove that your catch was harvested outside of Florida's waters. Traveling directly through state waters on your return to land will help to eliminate doubt that you have caught the federal limit within Florida's waters.

Its actually pretty cut and dry as far as limits,

There is rarely anything worth stopping to catch out of PC inside 3 miles especially if you already have a boat load of cobia from offshore already. of Course TT is the exception

That being said....If you are really worried about being stopped and FWC challenging you- you simply show them the track on your GPS and you will be able to see the area you drifted/ circled around for couple hours to catch them. I have never had to do this though, every time i have been stopped with more than 6 browns they just ask where i caught them- i say 60 ft or whatever it may be and no more questions.

Any of you other Canaveral boys know a good mobile steering guy out that way. I am having trouble finding and stopping an incessant leak.

It would be nice if we could gather local service and supply know how in one place. I know there are many types of services and suppliers within minutes of the port...i've just never had the chance to deal with most of them.

That's good to know. I don't have a big enough freezer for 6... So guess it is not something I need to worry about.

Had a decent day Tuesday. First stop was 8a, water color was pea soup, nothing chewing there. Push further east until we hit a good wide rip at 125'. Caught a bunch of legal chicken dolphin, mostly 22" or so, saw a nice cow but couldn't get her to hit. Caught about 5 ttail under sorgum piles, all short though. Skipped ballyhoo after that, and got a personal best wahoo, didn't weigh her but she had to be north of 60lbs. Ran back in to hit a few reefs, dutch and sub, nothing at Dutch at all, sub showed fish over the wreck, but we never even got a bite, so who knows about the COBE's. Also, how do you do photos off an I phone, can't figure it out. I'll try and post if I can. Good luck out there.

We're hitting that time of the year where the only breaks in the weather seem to come right in the middle of the work week.

We went out yesterday. Got into hundreds of schoolies in 220'...only problem was they were all 19 7/8"

Still a good time the weather couldn't have been any nicer.

Off from Christmas to New Years. Hopefully we get some decent weather! If not, I'm still going for some nearshore, river, or fishing the port for whatever bites.
